Nam Tae-hyun has been sentenced to a fine for drunk driving
He is currently under investigation for suspicions of taking Philopon
Singer Nam Tae-hyun (30) has been sentenced to a fine for drunk driving.
According to legal sources on the 7th, Judge Ham Hyun-ji of the Seoul Central District Court's 27th Criminal Division issued a summary order of a 6 million won fine to Mr. Nam, who was charged with violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving).
Mr. Nam was caught by the police on March 8th around 3:30 am, driving about 7-8 meters in a residential parking area in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, after consuming alcohol. During this process, Mr. Nam also caused an accident by breaking the side mirror of a passing taxi while opening the car door.
At the time, Mr. Nam's blood alcohol content was measured at 0.114%, exceeding the license cancellation threshold (0.08%).
Subsequently, the police forwarded Mr. Nam to the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office on charges of drunk driving. The prosecution decided to proceed with a summary indictment against Mr. Nam.
Nam Tae-hyun's agency, No Name Music, released a statement saying, "Nam Tae-hyun deeply reflects on his wrongdoing and will sincerely cooperate with the police investigation and accept the punishment accordingly."
Meanwhile, Nam Tae-hyun is also under investigation by the prosecution on suspicion of taking philopon (a type of methamphetamine) along with Seo Min-jae.
