Actor Lee Jung-jae has denied the allegations that he had any involvement in T.O.P's casting for Netflix series "Squid Game 2".

Actor Lee Jung-jae firmly denies involvement in the casting of "Squid Game 2" amid controversy surrounding Big Bang's former member, T.O.P (Choi Seung-hyun).
Lee Jung-jae's agency, Artist Company, released a statement on the 29th addressing the casting allegations and clarified that the rumors were untrue.
The agency stated, "Regarding the casting reports of Lee Jung-jae in 'Squid Game 2,' we would like to clarify our position. The claims that Lee Jung-jae was involved in the casting of 'Squid Game 2' are not true."
They further emphasized that the casting decisions are the prerogative of the director and production company, stating, "The casting of a project is solely determined by the director and production company. Especially with 'Squid Game 2,' which has garnered significant attention, many actors have put effort into auditions for a chance to be cast, and Lee Jung-jae understands this better than anyone else."
The agency concluded by emphasizing, "Therefore, we once again confirm that Lee Jung-jae's involvement in the casting of 'Squid Game 2' is not true."

Previously A recent Korean entertainment media reported that T.O.P's casting in "Squid Game 2" was influenced by Lee Jung-jae.
According to the news outlet, Netflix, which earned 9 billion dollars (approximately 1.24 trillion Korean won) from "Squid Game," could not ignore Lee Jung-jae's influence, and he demanded a fee of 1 million dollars (approximately 13.17 billion Korean won) per episode for his appearance in "Squid Game 2."

"Squid Game 2" will feature Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, Gong Yoo, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yuri, Won Ji-an, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Roh Jae-won, T.O.P, and others.

Meanwhile, T.O.P was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation in 2017 for the charge of marijuana use at his residence in 2016.
