"Kim Soo-hyun Reportedly Dated a Former Idol Actress from 2017 to 2019"

Actor Kim Soo-hyun reportedly dated a former idol singer-turned-actress during his military service between 2017 and 2019, according to a report by Money Today on April 26.

The outlet claims that Kim Soo-hyun and Actress A were in a relationship for about three years, from around 2016 to 2019. The two, who were senior and junior colleagues under the same agency, are said to have grown close before eventually dating. They reportedly broke up in the spring of 2019, just three months before Kim's military discharge.

An entertainment industry insider stated that their relationship was an “open secret” within the entertainment world. The source added that Kim and A had been the subject of dating rumors several times and that Kim Soo-hyun frequently sent letters to A while serving in the military.

Another insider confirmed that while the exact timing of when they started dating is unclear, it is certain that they were together during Kim Soo-hyun’s military service period between 2017 and 2019.

Interestingly, the timeline of Kim Soo-hyun and Actress A’s alleged relationship overlaps with the period that late actress Kim Sae-ron’s side previously claimed she had been dating Kim Soo-hyun.

Earlier, representatives close to Kim Sae-ron had asserted through the YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute that Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun were in a relationship from late 2015, when she was in her third year of middle school, until July 2021. This claim was reportedly based on a text message Kim Sae-ron had sent to a close acquaintance.

In the text, Kim Sae-ron allegedly wrote:

"Our relationship started on November 19, 2015, and ended on July 7, 2021. I was 16 years old, and he was 30. Our six-year relationship has ended."

Kim Sae-ron also mentioned a photo taken with Kim Soo-hyun in 2016 and claimed:

"At Kim Soo-hyun’s suggestion, I signed with Golden Medalist without any preconditions and worked on rookie casting and visual directing projects."
