Actor Ahn Hyo-seop has been cast as a voice actor in the global Netflix animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Ahn will deliver all his lines in English, taking on the challenge of conveying subtle emotions and depth using only his voice—going beyond standard voice acting.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is a hybrid action-musical animation set in a dual world where globally popular K-pop girl group members perform on stage by day and hunt demons by night.

Blending dazzling stage performances, emotional depth, and supernatural thrills, the film explores themes of identity and emotional balance in today's youth—framed through the cultural lens of K-pop.

The film is a co-production between Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind global hits like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. It is directed by Korean-American Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans of Wish Dragon, making it a highly anticipated project that fuses Korean cultural identity with a global storytelling sensibility.

K-Pop Demon Hunters is set to premiere on Netflix worldwide on June 20, reaching audiences in over 190 countries.

Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo-seop recently wrapped filming for the movie Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, in which he plays the lead role of Kim Dok-ja. The film is scheduled for release this July.
