Adapted from a popular Naver webtoon, the Weak Hero series first exploded in 2022 with Class 1, earning both critical acclaim and massive fandom buzz. Starring Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung, the first season pulled no punches and landed in the Top 10 non-English Netflix series globally for four straight weeks, charting in over 70 countries.

Now, Class 2 picks up the fight—literally. Park Ji-hoon returns as Yeon Si-eun, a quiet but deadly fighter who finds himself in a new school nicknamed “the troublemaker academy” after the traumatic loss of a friend. As he steps into this new battlefield, he’s forced to face even more intense violence—and forge new friendships.

So, what’s new in Class 2?

Plenty!

Ryeoun joins the cast as Park Hu-min, a principled basketball captain who keeps the school’s fragile order in place. Choi Min-young plays Seo Jun-tae, a seemingly timid classmate with a twist. Rising star Lee Jun-young brings dangerous energy as Geum Seong-je, a key member of the school’s delinquent union. Action lovers will want to keep an eye on Lee Min-jae, who plays Go Hyun-tak, a former taekwondo prodigy known for his signature kick.

The mastermind behind the school’s shadowy order? That would be Na Baek-jin, played by Bae Na-ra—a genius student and secret puppeteer of the school’s violent hierarchy. For added tension, Yoo Su-bin joins as intelligence broker Choi Hyo-man, further complicating the already explosive school landscape.

At the press conference held in Seoul on April 21, co-director Yoo Soo-min explained, “This season is about how a boy becomes a man—it’s about reconciliation with himself, with others, and with the world.”

Behind the scenes: friendships, casting fights, and… school uniforms?

Director Han Jun-hee, known for D.P., reunited with Lee Jun-young and Bae Na-ra for this project. He joked that Jun-young looked too good in a school uniform, saying, “If you didn’t join, I was ready to change the whole script.” As for Bae Na-ra, he personally reached out to offer him the role, wanting more screen time for the charismatic actor.

Director Yoo revealed that his brother, Yoo Su-bin, initially turned down the role due to the pressure of working with family—but eventually came around, joking, “If you call me for another project, I’ll put on a school uniform again.”
