Kwon Eun-bi Reveals on KCM's YouTube Show "Hey, Come Here":“Thanks to Waterbomb's Success, I Bought a 2.4 Billion Won Building—No Members to Split Income With, So It’s Great”

Singer Kwon Eun-bi revealed that she became a building owner after gaining massive attention as the “Waterbomb Goddess.”

In the April 21 episode of the online show “Hey, Come Here” on the Donghaemul and Baekdu Eunhyuk channel, Kwon Eun-bi appeared as a guest alongside KCM, engaging in candid conversation with hosts Eunhyuk and Donghae.

When asked if there were any Waterbomb goddesses she felt competitive with, Kwon Eun-bi confidently replied, “There’s really no one I feel competitive with. I’m not bothered at all. I mean, I’m the best, aren’t I?” Eunhyuk nodded, adding, “There’s a certain class to being the original—you can’t argue with that.”

Recalling her now-iconic Waterbomb stage, Kwon said, “That was my first-ever event in Seoul. It was also my first time performing alone on such a big stage, so I was incredibly nervous. You never know when or where things will suddenly take off. I never expected that performance to get such a huge response.”

However, she confessed that at the time, she didn’t feel the crowd’s energy: “I went on stage at 1 p.m., and usually crowds get bigger toward the evening. At that time, there were still many empty seats. I was worried—‘Am I doing okay?’ I didn’t feel a full audience. But when I got home after my schedule, the reactions exploded. I was like, ‘What just happened?’”

Eunhyuk noted, “You landed a ton of ads afterward, right?”

Kwon Eun-bi confirmed, “Yes, I shot a lot of commercials after Waterbomb.”

KCM chimed in, “You even bought a building afterward. I heard you became a landlord from all the commercials.”

Kwon Eun-bi responded honestly: “I was earning before that too, but if I had to guess, my income ratio pre- and post-Waterbomb would be around 3:7. I got a lot of ads and event gigs. Since I’m promoting alone, I don’t have to split earnings—that probably made a big difference.”

However, when asked whether she prefers being a solo artist or part of a group, she chose group. “As time passes and we grow older, what stays with you is the people,” she said, emphasizing the value of lasting relationships.

Kwon Eun-bi originally debuted in 2014 with the girl group Ye-A, and later re-debuted as a member of IZ*ONE through Produce 101. Following IZ*ONE’s disbandment, she launched a successful solo career, gaining massive attention after performing at the 2023 Waterbomb Festival. Her song Underwater gained renewed popularity, and she solidified her status as a solo artist. She also made headlines for purchasing a 2.4 billion won (approx. $1.75 million USD) house in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and currently runs a café as well.

Meanwhile, Kwon Eun-bi recently released her new digital single “Hello Stranger.”
