Go Youn-jung and Koo Kyo-hwan in Talks for Next Park Hae-young Project - New Drama Offer From Hit Writer Sparks Major Hype
Actors Go Youn-jung and Koo Kyo-hwan are set to team up in a brand-new drama by acclaimed screenwriter Park Hae-young, known for hits like Another Miss Oh, My Mister, and My Liberation Notes.

According to an exclusive report by Xports News on April 21, the two stars will appear in Park’s upcoming drama titled "Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness" (literal translation of '모두가 자신의 무가치함과 싸우고 있다'). The project will be directed by Cha Young-hoon, known for helming popular series such as Uncontrollably Fond, When the Camellia Blooms, and Forecasting Love and Weather. With both a renowned writer and a hit-making director on board, expectations are high for this collaboration.
Go Youn-jung has gained widespread popularity through works like Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow, Moving, Death’s Game, and Lighting Shop. She is currently winning hearts as first-year resident Oh Yi-young in Resident Playbook (also Wise Resident Life).
Koo Kyo-hwan, beloved for his roles in D.P. and Parasyte: The Grey, has a busy slate ahead with four upcoming films — Finding Hwang, One Day Off, Revival Man, and Heavy Snow. His ability to take on layered, emotionally intense roles continues to resonate with audiences.
The pairing of Go Youn-jung and Koo Kyo-hwan in a Park Hae-young script is already drawing buzz, especially given the massive cultural impact of My Liberation Notes, which sparked the “Worship Syndrome” and the viral “Mr. Gu craze,” portrayed by Son Suk-ku. Fans are eager to see if this new project can capture that same emotional lightning in a bottle.
In the preview for episode 5 of Resident Playbook (a.k.a. Wise Resident Life), the residents face the aftermath of a tense Yulje Hospital dinner party. A mysterious mistake made during the gathering leaves them walking on eggshells, especially as the attending professors greet them the next day with eerie, forced smiles. The teaser hints at an awkward — possibly chaotic — incident that could shift the dynamics between the residents and their superiors, raising anticipation for how the tension will unfold.
tvN's Resident Playbook, a Hospital Playlist Spinoff, airs every Saturday on tvN at 9:20 PM KST.
