So Ji-sub’s Fan Meeting Took an Unexpected Turn — What Taecyeon and Cha Hak-yeon Did Had Fans Cheering

Actor So Ji-sub recently reunited with his Japanese fans in a heartfelt fan meeting, joined by two of his beloved “younger brothers,” Ok Taecyeon and Cha Hak-yeon.

On April 5, So Ji-sub held his solo fan meeting “SONICe Trip” in Tokyo, marking his first fan event in Japan in nearly six years. Originally planned as a one-time event, a second show was added on the same day due to overwhelming demand.

With a “spring trip” concept, the fan meeting opened with So Ji-sub warmly greeting fans:

“It took far too long for us to meet again. I was so nervous last night I couldn’t sleep, but seeing all your faces turned that nervousness into excitement—like the feeling right before going on a trip. I hope you enjoy this journey with me.”

The event featured fun segments like a quiz about So Ji-sub’s travel preferences and behind-the-scenes stories from his past projects. Fans erupted with cheers when he spoke about his upcoming Netflix drama The Square, with Lee Jun-hyuk and Cha Seung-won, set to release later this year.

The atmosphere hit its peak when special guests Ok Taecyeon and Cha Hak-yeon—who share the same agency with So Ji-sub—made surprise appearances. The trio performed “Walking Through Time,” a sentimental track written and composed by Taecyeon just for the event.

Taecyeon shared in fluent Japanese, “I imagined Ji-sub walking hand-in-hand with fans through time when I made this song.”

Cha Hak-yeon joked, “Please support the debut of our new group, So-Ok-Cha,” drawing big laughs from the crowd.

Taecyeon added, “I’m so happy I could be part of this moment with Ji-sub hyung and all of you. Please keep loving and supporting him.”

Cha Hak-yeon also shared heartfelt words: “Watching you all stand by Ji-sub sunbae made me realize how lucky he is. I hope you’ll continue to cheer him on always.”

So Ji-sub closed the event with gratitude:

“It's always sad when a journey ends, but that’s what makes you want to go on another one. Thank you for allowing me to meet you again today. It was a perfect day, and I hope we’ll travel together again. Stay healthy and happy always.”

So Ji-sub is set to return to screens in the upcoming drama Square in the first half of this year.
