Despite public scrutiny surrounding her fiancé Yang Jae-woong and a patient death investigation, EXID’s Hani remains focused on her career and EXID’s full-group comeback activities.

EXID’s Hani is staying committed to her professional activities, unaffected by the ongoing legal controversy involving her fiancé, psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong.

On April 17, Hani shared a poster on her social media for the upcoming Far East Music City festival in Jakarta, Indonesia, set to take place at Ice BSD City Hall. EXID is included in the performance lineup alongside artists like Kang Daniel and Olivia Marsh.

A day prior, on April 16, she also posted a ticketing announcement for EXID’s upcoming fan concert in Hanoi, Vietnam, scheduled for May 31, showing her active involvement in the group’s full-member activities.

Meanwhile, her fiancé Yang Jae-woong, a well-known psychiatrist and media personality, is under renewed police investigation following a patient death incident at his Bucheon-based hospital.

According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police, authorities conducted a search and seizure operation on April 14 at Yang’s clinic, securing CCTV footage, medical records, and digital logs. Phones belonging to Yang and other hospital staff were also confiscated. The seized materials are currently undergoing digital forensics analysis.

The investigation stems from a May 27, 2023 incident, in which a woman in her 30s, known as "A," died while hospitalized at Yang’s facility. Her family claims the hospital failed to provide adequate treatment despite her complaints of abdominal pain, allegedly subjecting her to isolation and physical restraint, ultimately leading to her death.

Public backlash intensified when it was revealed that Yang announced his marriage to Hani just four days after the patient’s death, while remaining silent on the incident. Yang has denied any wrongdoing and has disputed claims of medical negligence, including during appearances at government audits.

Although the police initially paused the investigation in January 2024 due to a lack of response from the Korean Medical Association (which was asked to conduct a review), they reopened the case in March after the victim’s family formally requested a resumption of the investigation.

As the legal process continues, Hani has chosen to maintain her focus on EXID’s comeback and overseas performances, steering clear of public comment on the matter.
