"Finance Man" Revealed
Following the recent marriage of singer and actress Hyomin, formerly of T-ara, public curiosity has grown around her husband—described as a handsome and successful finance professional. It has now been confirmed that her husband is Hyunseung Kim, Managing Director at the Korean office of global private equity firm Bain Capital.

According to sources in the investment banking industry and Financial News reporting on April 17, Kim has played a central role in several high-profile M&A deals in Korea, making him a notable figure in the private equity world.
Bain Capital is recognized as one of the most active global PE firms in the Korean market. It has been involved in a range of major deals, including investments in Duzon Bizon (a Kosdaq-listed IT company), the acquisition of Classys, and recently made headlines by siding with Chairman Choi Yoon-beom in a high-stakes management dispute at Korea Zinc. Additionally, Bain Capital is currently on the shortlist to acquire the tire steel cord division of Hyosung Advanced Materials, which is in the process of being sold.

As a key dealmaker, Hyunseung Kim is reportedly responsible for overseeing major transactions and managing Bain’s portfolio in Korea. A graduate of Seoul National University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Kim previously worked at Bain & Company and Unison Capital before joining Bain Capital in 2018.
A senior IB executive described Kim as “a highly capable and respected talent with both integrity and intelligence, widely regarded as one of the rising stars in the industry.”
