💬 Q&A with Hong Soo-hyun

Q: How do you feel now that Buried Hearts has come to an end?

I’m grateful that I was able to film in such a warm, enjoyable atmosphere with everyone involved. It was a truly valuable experience and I cherish the time I spent with such a great team.

Q: What drew you to the role of Cha Guk-hee, the CEO chasing ambition?

I was intrigued by how complex she is — someone chasing ambition but still lonely and pure in some ways. That duality really appealed to me and made me want to take on the role.

Q: What was your main focus in portraying her? Any challenges?

She’s ambitious but still has an innocence deep inside. Balancing those sides was key, and I spent a lot of time thinking about how to express her layered emotions. Rather than calling it difficult, I saw that balance as the heart of the character.

Q: Do you have a favorite scene?

The scene where Guk-hee gets caught stealing dollars by CEO Heo Il-do stands out. She follows a simple desire but fails to lie convincingly once caught — that moment captured the essence of her character really well.

Q: How would you like viewers to remember Cha Guk-hee?

I hope people remember her not just as someone driven by ambition, but as someone with sincerity and heart behind it.

Q: If you could say something to Cha Guk-hee?

I’d tell her: I hope you’re reborn as a stronger version of yourself — someone who can truly lead Daesan someday.

Q: Any final message to the viewers?

Thank you so much for loving Buried Hearts. Your support meant the world to me, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who stayed with us until the end. I’ll continue working hard and return with even better roles in the future.
