In a recent appearance on singer Lim Seulong’s YouTube channel Ongstyle, Ga-In shared her mental and emotional journey since the controversy and her time spent in self-reflection.

“I was dealing with depression, insomnia, and panic disorder. It was a very dark and difficult period both mentally and physically,” she recalled.

She explained that it was her mother who helped her return to everyday life during a time when she felt herself slipping into a slump. “My mom dragged me out to help with the store she runs. At first, it was incredibly hard. But working every day wore me out physically, and that made it easier to fall asleep naturally,” she said.

Ga-In added that through this process, she stopped looking at her phone and gradually took on more responsibilities at the store. She said her mother’s approach to helping her recover matched her personality well, tearfully saying, “I wouldn’t be here now if it weren’t for my mom.”

Reflecting on her earlier success, she admitted, “When I was young and doing well, I didn’t really look for my mom. But once things got hard, I reached out to her. I feel sorry about that. I want to be a good daughter now, even if it’s late.”

In 2019, Ga-In was fined for the illegal use of propofol and subsequently stepped away from the entertainment industry. Since then, she has kept a low profile for several years.
