NewJeans Says, “It’s a Tough Time, But Thanks to Our Fans, We’re Holding On — We'll Be Together Again”
On April 11, NewJeans reached out to their fans, Bunnies, through a surprise emotional message posted to their official social media account, mhdhh, amid their ongoing legal battle and activity suspension.

In their post, the members shared, “We received the letters you sent us, Bunnies — they made us cry,” adding that they’ve been reading each and every letter carefully, without missing a day. “Your kind words, encouragement, and love touched us deeply. Sometimes it’s overwhelming to receive so much love, but it pushes us to become people you can be proud of.”
They continued, “We’re going through a hard time right now, but talking with Bunnies gives us the most strength. We’ve really wanted to communicate more, so your letters mean the world to us.”
The members also opened up about their inner struggles, writing, “There are times we don’t understand ourselves or our emotions, but reading your letters fills our hearts and helps us reflect on who we are. Thank you.” Reassuring fans, they added, “Even though Bunnies are worried, we believe we’ll see you again — and when we do, it won’t feel hard anymore. A time will come when we can all laugh and enjoy the songs you love together.”
They ended with a warm message: “We’ve been eating well, sleeping well, spending time with our families and each other, and thinking of Bunnies while feeling happy. So please, you too — stay healthy and be happy every day.”

Background on the Legal Dispute
NewJeans has been embroiled in a conflict with their label ADOR, a subsidiary of HYBE. On November 28, 2024, the group announced they were seeking to terminate their exclusive contract, citing unresolved issues that had been formally raised earlier that month.
In February 2025, the members launched a new identity under the name “NJZ” via newly created social media accounts, independent of ADOR. However, ADOR responded by stating that any activity outside their officially sanctioned channels was unauthorized and could cause legal complications, including concerns raised by advertising partners.

In March, the Seoul Central District Court sided with ADOR by granting an injunction that prohibited the members from signing new contracts or carrying out individual activities. This effectively paused the group’s independent promotions.
Following their performance at ComplexCon Hong Kong 2025, NewJeans announced a temporary halt in activities. Shortly after, they erased all NJZ branding from their social media and changed the account name to “mhdhh”, wiping all previous posts.
