KAIST hosts ‘Innovate Korea 2025’ special talk G-Dragon attempts to send music and music video into space

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) flaunted his unique fashion sense.

On April 9, G-Dragon attended the ‘Innovate Korea 2025’ talk show held at KAIST's main campus in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.

He stepped onto the stage in a stylish outfit featuring a checkered coat paired with oversized striped pants. He completed the bold look with a straw hat, yellow socks, and Mary Jane shoes. What stood out most was the tooth gem adorned with the Chanel logo, adding an extra “hip” edge to his fashion.

During the event, G-Dragon unveiled his AI-generated music video “HOME SWEET HOME” for the first time. He also paid close attention to a quadrupedal robot dancing to the beat of “Power,” showing his interest in the fusion of technology and art. When meeting KAIST students, he shyly smiled at being called “Professor,” creating a warm and playful vibe.

Following the talk show, G-Dragon participated in a project with the KAIST Space Research Institute to transmit his music and video into space using Microsoft Azure OpenAI’s Sora technology.

G-Dragon was appointed as a visiting professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at KAIST last year and is expected to remain active in this role until 2026. This collaboration, according to KAIST, "aims to enhance the global competitiveness of Korean culture by integrating KAIST's scientific advancements with the entertainment industry."

G-Dragon will deliver special lectures on leadership, sharing his experiences as a world-class artist to inspire students. Additionally, KAIST and Galaxy Corporation plan to establish the KAIST-Galaxy Corporation Entertech Research Center to conduct joint research on technologies such as Digital Twin, AI, robotics, and the metaverse, focusing on their application to K-Culture.
