Shin Min-a: Beyond Acting, A Compassionate Philanthropist
Actress Shin Min-a recently revealed that, despite her long-term public relationship with actor Kim Woo-bin, the two do not discuss when it comes to making donations.

The couple, often referred to as "donation angels" in Korea, have individually built strong reputations for their generous philanthropy over the years.
During an interview held on April 9 at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul, Shin Min-a spoke with the press about her role in the new Netflix series 'Karma' and also touched on her recent charitable activities. According to News1, when asked about her history of donations—especially in light of the fact that Kim Woo-bin has also made headlines for doing the same—Shin responded, “We don’t discuss donations with each other. There have just been so many causes to give to recently, I think many people, including myself, naturally joined in.”

She continued with a thoughtful reflection. “In the past, I used to think that good deeds should be done quietly. But nowadays, I realize that when influential people make donations, it encourages more people to join. If you have the ability to help others who are struggling, I believe you should. And if even just one person reads an article and decides to do good, I think that’s meaningful.”
In March, Shin Min-a donated 50 million KRW to assist victims of the wildfires in Korea. Soon after, Kim Woo-bin made a matching donation of 50 million KRW to aid recovery efforts. Though the couple don’t donate as a unit, both have been consistently involved in giving, with each of their cumulative donations exceeding 1 billion KRW.
Currently, Shin Min-a stars in Netflix’s new crime thriller 'Karma' where she plays Ju-yeon, a woman forced to confront deeply rooted traumas from her past.
'Karma' follows the tangled lives of six individuals bound by inescapable, toxic ties. Rated 18+, the series explores each of their stories across six gripping episodes, peeling back layers of past misdeeds and revealing the truth behind their doomed connections.
Since its release on April 4, Karma has received glowing reviews and quickly climbed to #5 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 (Non-English TV Series) within just three days.
