BTS Jin Gets Real in Netflix’s Reality Show Kian’s Bizarre BnB

Kian84 has shared a hilarious update featuring BTS member Jin, teasing the debut of their new Netflix variety show Kian’s Bizarre BnB (대환장 기안장).

On April 8, Kian84 posted a photo on social media with the caption, “Finally, Kian Inn is open.” In the photo, he and Jin are seen lying flat on a cement floor, clearly exhausted. Kian84, dressed in a comfy jacket and shorts with a pain-relief patch on his shin, covers his face with one arm. Jin, equally worn out, lies with his eyes closed and one knee bent in a relaxed, slumped pose.

Fans reacted with excitement, leaving comments like “So hyped for Kian Inn,” “The chemistry between Jin and Kian84 will be legendary,” “Can’t miss a single episode,” and “Is Kian Inn… the floor?”

A Variety Dream Team from the Creators of 'Hyori’s Homestay'

Kian's Bizarre BnB is a brand-new take on the “homestay variety” genre, reminiscent of Hyori’s Homestay. Directed by Jung Hyo-min and written by Yoon Shin-hye, the show follows Kian84, BTS’s Jin, and rising star Ji Ye-eun as they run a quirky, unpredictable guesthouse on Ulleungdo Island.

Jung shared his thoughts on casting:

“Kian84 is such a unique character that the overall feel of the show can completely change depending on who he's paired with. So I wanted people with distinct personalities—strong enough not to be overshadowed by Kian84’s presence.”

He also explained how Ji Ye-eun joined the cast:

“She was actually recommended by Kian84. She’s got that MZ-generation charm, and I thought it would be fun to show her real personality on screen.”

Casting Jin: Not Just About Star Power

As for BTS’s Jin, the choice wasn’t just about his idol status. “He’s one of the most famous global stars, but I felt that his genuine personality hadn’t really been shown to the public yet,” Jung shared. “We actually reached out while he was still enlisted in the military, which made the process complicated. There were so many casting requests going around at the time.”

Fortunately, it turned out Jin was already a fan of Kian84’s shows and had hoped to meet him in person. After his discharge, Jin happily arranged his schedule and traveled to Ulleungdo to take part in the filming.

In a clever move, even Kian84 and Ji Ye-eun weren’t told about Jin joining the cast. “We didn’t reveal Jin’s casting to either of them,” Jung revealed. “We wanted to capture their genuine reactions on camera when they first met him on the boat to Ulleungdo.”

Keeping Jin’s Appearance Top Secret

Producer Hwang Yoon-seo spoke about the extreme secrecy surrounding Jin’s participation. “Because Jin is so famous, we were extremely cautious about leaks,” she said. “We mapped out the ferry routes like it was a spy movie to make sure the cast wouldn’t run into each other before filming. That made their on-camera meeting all the more real. And you know, people really bond when they’re struggling together—we captured the process of them becoming fast friends.”

A Guesthouse Like No Other

Kian’s Bizarre BnB is set in a whimsical, remote guesthouse on Ulleungdo Island. Kian84, BTS’s Jin, and Ji Ye-eun welcome guests from all walks of life, creating unscripted chaos, heartfelt connections, and unexpected laughs. The show blends variety with slice-of-life as the cast adapts to rural life and reinvents what it means to run a guesthouse—with Kian84’s signature flair.
