“I cried as much as the cigarettes you smoked” — T-ARA’s Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun share cryptic posts after divorce

Former couple Hwang Jae-gyun and T-ara’s Jiyeon have each posted cryptic messages on their personal social media, drawing attention from fans and the public alike.

On April 6, Jiyeon uploaded a short video to her Instagram with the caption “Karaoke alone instead of karaoke with you.”

In the video, she sings Lee Ye-joon's song “Was I at Peace That Day?” The lyrics include lines such as “We got tired of fighting over the same things. I guess it’s time for us to end,” and “It was hard to watch you act so unlike yourself.”

Other emotional lyrics like “The pain is enough. I cried as much as the cigarettes you smoked,” and “If only you had loved me more… Would we have been happier if we never met?” have caught particular attention.

Some speculate that the post reflects her feelings following the divorce or may even be directed at Hwang Jae-gyun.

Just a day earlier, on April 5, Hwang Jae-gyun also posted a quote on his account: “You must pass the test, overcome the trials, and resist temptation,” sparking additional speculation and controversy.

Jiyeon and Hwang Jae-gyun were married in December 2022, but ended their marriage two years later in November 2024. Although the exact reason for the divorce has not been disclosed, both parties stated at the time that they “could not overcome their differences” and mutually agreed to divorce after a period of separation.
