In Episode 13 of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama, airing on April 4, Seo Dong-joo comes face to face once again with Heo Il-do (played by Lee Hae-young). In the previous episode, viewers were stunned to learn that the two characters—who have spent the entire series trying to destroy each other—are in fact father and son.

Throughout the drama, the two men had no idea they shared blood, and repeatedly threatened each other’s lives. In the jaw-dropping ending of Episode 12, the truth about Seo Dong-joo’s real father was revealed: the very man who had tried to kill him multiple times, Heo Il-do, was his biological father.

In a chilling moment, Heo Il-do once again points a gun at Dong-joo—unaware of their connection. Seo Dong-joo then delivers a gut-punch of a line, “Go ahead and shoot again, Father.”

Ahead of Episode 13, the production team released still cuts showing the two men confronting each other. Park Hyung-sik fully embodies Seo Dong-joo’s inner turmoil, delivering a performance filled with raw, conflicting emotion. With the truth out, viewers are eager to see what choice Dong-joo will make toward the man who gave him life—and tried to take it away.

The drama also teases another major turning point: the decision of the villain Yeom Jang-seon (played by Huh Joon-ho). What path will Heo Il-do choose now?

The production team shared, “Episode 13 will depict the intense emotions between Seo Dong-joo and Heo Il-do as they confront the shocking truth of their father-son relationship. Park Hyung-sik and Lee Hae-young delivered powerful, emotionally charged performances that will leave a lasting impact. We ask viewers to look forward to it.”

‘Buried Hearts’ has been breaking its own ratings records week after week, and anticipation is high for whether the upcoming episode can top its latest numbers.

Episode 13 airs tonight (April 4) at 9:50 PM KST. On April 4, following the impeachment of former South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, many dramas and TV broadcasts had their schedules changed — but 'Buried Hearts' will air as scheduled.
