BTS’s Jin Stepped Up in the Most Unexpected Way: A Moment That Stunned Everyone

Jin of BTS is gaining attention for his quiet act of kindness—personally stepping in to serve meals in a wildfire-affected region.

According to BigHit Music on April 3, Jin took part in a meal service volunteer activity at Gil’an Middle School in Andong, an area recently impacted by wildfires. Witnesses shared that Jin wore an apron and hat while handing out food directly to local residents affected by the disaster. Many recognized the global star, but Jin remained focused on his volunteer work, offering comfort through action rather than words.

The free meal station was originally set up by Korean chef and entrepreneur Baek Jong-won through his brand, The Born Korea, on March 28. The food has been provided to both displaced residents and firefighters working around the clock in the area.

Jin and Baek Jong-won are known to have a close friendship, having appeared together on Korean variety shows. They’re also business partners, having co-launched the distilled liquor brand "IGIN."

BigHit Music explained, “Jin wanted to offer even the smallest help to those affected by the wildfire, which is why he joined the volunteer effort.”

Other BTS members have also stepped up to support wildfire recovery efforts through donations. J-Hope and SUGA each contributed 100 million KRW (about 68,900 USD), while Jungkook made headlines for donating a staggering 1 billion KRW (approximately 689,000 USD). Jungkook expressed his hope that “those going through this exhausting and difficult time will find even a bit of comfort,” adding, “I sincerely hope everyone affected by the fires and those fighting to contain them can return to peaceful everyday life as soon as possible.”

This is just one of many acts of kindness from BTS members, who have consistently led by example with their charitable giving and support for those in need.
