Originally set to air its first episode on Friday, April 4 at 9:50 p.m., Crushology 101, which follows the hit Undercover High School, now faces possible cancellation or delay of its premiere broadcast due to breaking news coverage surrounding the impeachment verdict.

On April 4 at 11 a.m. KST, the Constitutional Court will announce its ruling at the court’s Grand Chamber in Jongno-gu, Seoul. The ruling comes 122 days after the impeachment motion was passed in the National Assembly on December 3, 2024, and 111 days after the official filing was submitted to the court.

More than a legal decision, the ruling is expected to significantly impact South Korea’s constitutional order and political landscape, attracting intense attention domestically and internationally. According to reports from News1 and other media outlets, the premiere broadcast has been placed on hold, as MBC anticipates scheduling a special news segment for coverage of the impeachment ruling. Depending on developments, the drama’s premiere may be delayed.

MBC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the new air date, but the drama’s online production press conference—scheduled for April 3—will proceed as planned. One official stated, “We’re currently reviewing the situation and will issue an update once the schedule is confirmed.”

Touted as one of MBC’s most anticipated dramas of 2025, Crushology 101 is based on the hit Kakao Webtoon of the same name, which has amassed over 170 million views. Written by Seong So-eun and Lee Seul, and directed by Kim Ji-hoon, the series stars rising next-gen talents Roh Jeong-eui, Lee Chae-min, and Jo Jun-young.
