Following her donation to wildfire recovery, the beloved actress steps up again—while continuing to shine on screen.
Actress Kim Go-eun has once again proven herself a force for good, both on and off screen. On April 2, international NGO Good Neighbors announced that Kim donated 50 million KRW (approx. $37,000 USD) to aid victims of the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar in March.

The funds will go toward emergency relief operations in central and northern Myanmar, helping provide food, daily necessities, and psychosocial support programs (PSS) for children traumatized by the disaster.
“It broke my heart to hear about people losing their homes and loved ones so suddenly,” Kim shared through her agency. “I send my deepest encouragement and hope this support brings even a little comfort to those in mourning.”
A Consistent Voice for Compassion
Kim Go-eun’s donation continues a long track record of quiet yet impactful philanthropy. A member of the Good Neighbors Honors Club—a group of high-tier donors who have given over 100 million KRW—she has continuously used her platform to help others:
2020: Donated 100 million KRW to support underprivileged families during the COVID-19 pandemic
2023: Contributed 30 million KRW to earthquake relief efforts in Türkiye and Syria
2024: Donated 50 million KRW toward recovery from devastating wildfires in Korea
According to Good Neighbors Secretary General Kim Joong-gon, “Her warmheartedness brings real, urgent support to communities in crisis. We deeply thank Kim Go-eun for her ongoing compassion.”

Kim Go-eun Named Best Actress at 2024 Women’s Film Artist of the Year Awards
Actress Kim Go-eun has been honored with the Best Actress award at the 2024 Women’s Film Artist of the Year, recognized for her powerful performances in both ‘Love in the Big City’ and the box office hit ‘Exhuma’ (파묘).
The award celebrates female excellence in Korean cinema, and Kim's win solidifies her status as one of the most versatile and emotionally resonant actresses of her generation.
In ‘Love in the Big City’, adapted from Park Sang-young’s bestselling novel, Kim portrayed a woman navigating the complexities of love, freedom, and loneliness in modern-day Seoul. The role required quiet vulnerability and nuance, and Kim’s performance earned acclaim for its raw, intimate portrayal of a deeply human character.
Meanwhile, in ‘Exhuma’, a mystery-thriller involving shamanism and ancestral burial rituals, Kim took on a completely different challenge—leading a suspenseful, genre-bending story filled with cultural and psychological tension. The film not only became one of the top-grossing Korean titles of early 2024, but also showcased Kim’s command of genre acting and her evolving range.
Critics praised her ability to effortlessly switch between emotionally layered indie drama and high-stakes thriller, with judges citing her “fearless versatility and unwavering presence across screen genres.”
This latest recognition adds to Kim Go-eun’s already impressive list of accolades and further highlights her ongoing impact on Korean cinema—both critically and commercially.
