No plans for entertainment comeback as he shifts focus to overseas business opportunities.

Seungri (Lee Seung-hyun), former member of BIGBANG, is reportedly seeking new beginnings in China, focusing on potential business ventures in the entertainment industry.

According to a report by MyDaily on April 2, Seungri recently left South Korea to pursue opportunities abroad. A source within the entertainment industry shared, “He was in Korea until recently but boarded a flight to China last month. While exact details are unknown, he’s still interested in the entertainment business and is exploring various possibilities.”

Another insider added, “He has no current plans to return to Korean entertainment. Aware of public perception, he is not considering a comeback but is instead leveraging his previous industry experience and network to explore business prospects abroad.”

While he is reportedly no longer in contact with BIGBANG members, Seungri is said to still keep in touch with former acquaintances and industry contacts, potentially laying the groundwork for collaborative projects overseas.

The Scandal That Changed Everything: Burning Sun Explained

Seungri has remained largely out of the spotlight since his involvement in the infamous Burning Sun scandal, which erupted in early 2019 and led to one of the most high-profile falls from grace in K-pop history.

The scandal—which started with reports of violence and misconduct at the Burning Sun nightclub in Gangnam—quickly spiraled into a massive criminal investigation involving multiple celebrities and business figures. Seungri was implicated in a string of serious charges, including: illegal gambling, prostitution mediation, violation of the Foreign Exchange Act, and embezzlement.

In 2021, he was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison after admitting to or being found guilty on nine charges. He was discharged in 2023 and has since maintained a low profile, with no official plans to return to the entertainment industry.

What’s Next for Seungri?

While speculation swirls about Seungri's business goals in China, there are no confirmed deals or official partnerships at this time. His interest in the entertainment and hospitality industries, however, mirrors his past ventures—including the now-defunct nightclub that led to his downfall.

If successful, Seungri could join the ranks of former celebrities who reinvent themselves as entrepreneurs overseas—though the road ahead remains controversial and closely watched.

Where Are the Other BIGBANG Members in 2025?

While Seungri charts a new course abroad, the remaining BIGBANG members—G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, and Daesung—are each navigating their own unique paths in 2025.

G-Dragon officially launched his 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] in Korea with back-to-back shows at Goyang Sports Complex on March 29–30. The concert featured guest appearances by Taeyang, Daesung, and CL (2NE1), reuniting fans with the BIGBANG legacy onstage.

T.O.P is forging a path in both art and science. After his departure from YG Entertainment, he continued to work independently, focusing on visual art and philanthropy. In early 2025, he made headlines for joining the DearMoon Project, a private space mission funded by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. The mission, however, was reportedly postponed indefinitely, though T.O.P remains active in space-related cultural projects.

Now signed to THEBLACKLABEL, Taeyang is continuing his dual career as a solo artist and family man. Following the success of his 2023 EP Down to Earth, Taeyang has been focusing on digital singles and OST collaborations in 2024–2025.

He rejoined G-Dragon on stage for the Übermensch concert, performing their iconic track “Good Boy” and sparking renewed excitement about BIGBANG collaborations. Fans continue to praise his consistent vocal power and stage charisma.

Daesung made his first major stage appearance in years during G-Dragon’s Seoul concert, where he joined the group for several songs. In early 2025, he also launched a YouTube series focused on healing, music, and nature, which has gained a loyal following. While no new music has been officially announced, his live vocals during the concert reassured fans that he hasn’t lost his edge.
