BLACKPINK’s JENNIE Becomes First K-Pop Soloist to Win This Honor, Making History!

JENNIE of BLACKPINK has once again broken barriers—this time, on one of the biggest stages in American music.

On March 29 (local time), JENNIE attended the 2025 Billboard Women in Music ceremony held at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, where she became the first-ever K-pop solo artist to receive the Global Force Award.

Standing among a crowd of influential women in music, JENNIE shared her heartfelt thanks: “It’s such an honor to receive the Global Force Award in a room filled with strong, inspiring women. I draw inspiration from women around the world and hope to continue being a positive influence on others.”

The Billboard Women in Music event annually honors female artists, creators, executives, and producers who have made a significant impact on the music industry. JENNIE’s latest success follows the global momentum of her first full solo album ‘Ruby’, which has shattered records and sparked a worldwide phenomenon.

‘Ruby’ earned a spot on the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks, while its lead single ‘like JENNIE’ ranked in the Top 10 of both the Global 200 and Global (Excl. US) charts for two straight weeks—an impressive feat for a solo K-pop act.

Outside of music, JENNIE continues to lead with heart. On March 28, Korea’s Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association announced that JENNIE donated ₩100 million KRW (approx. $68,000 USD) to support recovery efforts from recent wildfires in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang.

“I was heartbroken to hear about the sudden wildfires affecting so many people,” she said. “It’s a small gesture, but I wanted to offer some comfort and stand with those in need. I truly hope everyone can recover safely and welcome a warm spring ahead.”

JENNIE’s next major solo move? She’s set to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 13 and 20—becoming one of the few K-pop soloists to grace the iconic stage.
