Tving’s original hit series ‘Yumi’s Cells’ is officially gearing up for Season 3 — three years after the second season wrapped. According to industry sources on March 31, the production is moving forward, with Kim Go-eun expected to reprise her iconic role as Yumi.

“Season 3 of Yumi’s Cells is officially in development,” a drama industry insider told JTBC Entertainment News. “Tving is pouring its energy into bringing it back, and Kim Go-eun is being lined up to return as the lead. The team is working hard to preserve the series’ signature tone and charm.” For reference, Queen of Tears was also a massive hit aired on tvN.

Production company Studio Dragon confirmed the news, stating, “Yes, Season 3 is happening. We’ve offered the role of Yumi to Kim Go-eun and she’s currently reviewing it.” Her agency, BH Entertainment, also commented, “She has received the offer and is considering it.”

Yumi’s Cells is a heartwarming romance drama that explores the life of an ordinary woman named Yumi through the lens of the tiny, animated cells that drive her every thought, emotion, and decision.
