Kang Ha-neul on Squid Game 2: “I Had No Idea He Was Cast"
Actor Appears on Salon Drip 2 aired on March 25
Actor Kang Ha-neul has shared his thoughts on reuniting with fellow actor Im Si-wan in Squid Game Season 2.

On March 25, Kang appeared on the web variety show Salon Drip 2, released via the YouTube channel TEO, to promote his upcoming film Streaming (directed by Jo Jang-ho).
In this episode, actor Kang Ha-neul joins host Jang Do-yeon to talk about his new movie Streaming and share behind-the-scenes stories from his career.

During the show, Kang reflected on reuniting with Im Si-wan, whom he previously worked with in the 2014 hit drama Misaeng. He revealed that after confirming his own role in Squid Game 2, the only cast member he knew about was Lee Jung-jae.
He went on to share a behind-the-scenes story: when filming the character introduction videos—each actor filmed separately—he arrived 30 minutes early hoping to go inside, but was stopped by the staff and kept in the dark about who else had been cast.

Kang recounted the moment he saw Im Si-wan during the test shoot, saying he was completely surprised and even asked, “Hyung, what are you doing here?”
Reflecting on their reunion nearly a decade after Misaeng, Kang added, “Seeing him again made me think, ‘We’ve both managed to survive in this industry somehow.’”
Throughout the episode, Kang Ha-neul also shows off his quirky charm and upbeat personality, and jokes about his "old-fashioned" image. The episode blends heartfelt moments with lots of laughter, giving fans a deeper look into Kang Ha-neul’s humble and witty personality.
