Shocking Secrets Behind Seo Dong-joo's Revenge
As ratings for 'Buried Hearts' continue to skyrocket, the cast and crew have expressed heartfelt thanks to viewers for their overwhelming support.

The 10th episode of the SBS Friday–Saturday drama aired on March 22, hitting a nationwide average rating of 13.1% and peaking at 14.7% — once again breaking its own record. Remarkably, 'Buried Hearts' has set new personal bests seven times across its first ten episodes.
The explosive chemistry between Park Hyung-sik (as Seo Dong-joo) and Huh Joon-ho (as Yeom Jang-seon), the raw portrayal of human greed, screenwriter Lee Myung-hee’s twist-filled storytelling, and director Jin Chang-gyu’s bold direction have all combined to captivate audiences. The powerful performances of supporting actors Lee Hae-young, Hong Hwa-yeon, Woo Hyun, Kim Jung-nan, and Hong Soo-hyun have only added to the show’s momentum.

The show's ratings surge after the halfway point has been particularly encouraging. In Episode 10, Seo Dong-joo begins his full-on retaliation against Yeom Jang-seon and Heo Il-do, who were responsible for not only his suffering but also the death of his only sister. A shocking revelation tied to Seo Dong-joo’s mysterious origins, hinted at in previous episodes, further stunned viewers.

One major twist: Seo Dong-joo and his love interest Yeo Eun-nam may actually be half-siblings — a revelation that left longtime viewers reeling. The possibility opens up new questions: Are they truly related? Was their suspected father, Yeo Soon-ho (played by Joo Sang-wook), actually murdered? And if so, how does this tie into Dong-joo’s revenge?
With this twist likely setting up one of the key storylines for the second half of the series, the intrigue is only deepening. In a statement, the production team shared, “We’re truly grateful for the growing love and support as 'Buried Hearts' enters its second half. The final six episodes will be filled with shocking developments and intense emotional arcs.”
They added, “The cast’s performances speak for themselves. Especially in Episodes 11 and 12 airing this week, viewers can expect a powerful whirlwind of drama. Please stay tuned and keep your eyes on what’s to come.”

'Buried Hearts' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS. For character charts, plot details, and more, visit the drama’s official website.
