A new temporary member is joining the cast of SBS’s popular variety show Running Man—actor Choi Daniel.

According to a News1 report on March 24, Choi Daniel officially joined the show by participating in that day's recording. Unlike a one-time guest appearance, he will take part as a "rental member" for a set period.
The rental member system, introduced by Running Man last year as a variety show first, was designed to let guests "borrow a seat without pressure." Previous rental members include Kang Hoon, who brought fresh energy to the show, and Ji Ye-eun, who sparked interest with her innocent love-line and evolving relationships with cast members.
Choi Daniel has recently emerged as a surprise variety gem, showing unexpected charm and comedic timing on shows like Jungle Food 2, The Great Guide 2, and his YouTube web variety ChoiDaCheese.
The recent Running Man episode was recorded under the theme “Welcome Ceremony for the New Rental Member,” and fans are already curious to see how Choi Daniel’s chemistry will unfold with the existing cast.

His episode of Running Man is set to air on April 6.
Fans who heard the news responded with excitement:
“Choi Daniel is low-key hilarious—hope he shines on Running Man!”
“I’ll definitely be tuning in. Can’t wait to see his chemistry with the members.”
“I always thought of him as the brainy type from High Kick, but turns out he’s secretly a funny guy. Hope we get to see the full extent of his variety skills!”
