Cryptic Message Raises Eyebrows.

The late singer-actress Sulli’s older brother has drawn widespread attention after posting a series of cryptic messages on social media—some of which appear to indirectly target actor Kim Soo-hyun.

The two previously worked together in the 2017 film ‘Real.' The film was directed by a relative of Kim Soo-hyun, who is also the current head of Gold Medalist (Kim Soo-hyun's Agency). Sulli passed away on October 14, 2019.

On March 21, Sulli’s brother posted a message on Instagram that read, “There’s a lot I could say about Mr. Kim, but I can’t bring myself to say it. You’d better hold on tight—you’re about to fall from a high place.” While he did not mention Kim Soo-hyun by full name, fans speculated that the comments referred to the actor. Some urged him to stop, while others encouraged him to speak out, saying “If you’re going to expose something, now’s the time.”

The following day, Sulli’s brother followed up with another emotionally charged message:

“How is it that so-called fans are of no help? I never even mentioned Soo-hyun’s name, and yet here you all are, pouncing... You’re going crazy not being able to fact-check, right? I’ve lived for years holding onto one line: ‘There must’ve been no other way.’ That’s the only thing that’s kept me sane. In a way, it helps.”

He continued, “Even if it’s not me, others will put you through hell. I won’t talk about it because even if I do, it won’t become a fact. And it won’t help you, either. So don’t provoke me—just move on. And honestly, aren’t you the ones who keep dragging my sister’s name into everything? It’s exhausting.”

On March 22, he added yet another post criticizing fans: “Are there really fans in this situation? From where I stand, it just looks like everyone’s tearing each other apart.”

By March 23, his posts became even more pointed. For the first time, he directly referenced ‘Real’, the film in which Kim Soo-hyun and Sulli starred together. He wrote, “Your life, my life, everyone’s life is 'real',” followed by a comment that read, “It’s pure misery.”

Though his posts did not include specific allegations, the timing and tone have fueled speculation—especially as Kim Soo-hyun is currently embroiled in a separate controversy involving actress Kim Sae-ron.

Kim was recently accused of having dated Kim Sae-ron as early as November 2015, when she was still a minor. The claim was first raised by controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon) and individuals allegedly representing Kim Sae-ron’s family. In response, Gold Medalist released a statement denying the timeline, asserting that Kim and Kim Sae-ron were romantically involved only from the summer of 2019 to the fall of 2020—after she had legally become an adult.

As the two sides remain in sharp disagreement, more allegations continue to surface, and legal action now appears inevitable.

Amid the mounting controversy, the upcoming Disney+ drama ‘Knock-Off’, starring Kim Soo-hyun and Cho Bo-ah, has reportedly been placed on indefinite hold. With a production budget of approximately 60 billion KRW, the delay could result in massive financial penalties.
