TREASURE opens up about income, leadership changes, their soft new sound with Yellow, and what's next in 2025
K-pop group TREASURE got candid about how overseas earnings are settled, shedding light on an often-avoided topic in the idol industry.
Appearing on SBS PowerFM’s Cultwo Show on March 23, the group returned just three months after their last visit—this time promoting their new single ‘Yellow’. Since their previous appearance, TREASURE revealed a leadership change, with Junkyu and Asahi stepping up to lead the team in place of Choi Hyun-suk and Jihoon. Asahi commented playfully, “I’m a pacifist—I’ll make sure there are no fights within the group.”
Describing Yellow, the members explained the song expresses the warmth of love through the color yellow. Asahi, who co-wrote and composed the track, said, “Yellow brings joy and warmth, so I wanted to capture that feeling in the song.” Junkyu added, “It’s softer than our usual style, and we’re happy fans are loving it.”

Ahead of their world tour, TREASURE shared they’ll be performing in nine cities, including New York, Washington D.C., Oakland, Los Angeles, four cities in Japan (Hyogo, Aichi, Fukuoka, Saitama), and Seoul.
As the group gears up for a global tour, they didn’t shy away from talking about the real-life logistics—like how fluctuating exchange rates can affect their income from overseas promotions.
“There’s definitely a difference depending on the exchange rate,” one member admitted. “But it’s not always in our favor,” they added, earning laughter for their frankness.
TREASURE also confirmed that they’ve already renewed their contracts early with YG Entertainment—another rare move in the K-pop world that caught attention.
Fans can catch Cultwo Show every day from 2 to 4 p.m. KST on SBS PowerFM (107.7 MHz).
New Leadership, Same Energy: Junkyu & Asahi Take the Lead
TREASURE revealed that Junkyu and Asahi have taken over as co-leaders, replacing Choi Hyun-suk and Jihoon. Asahi explained, “I’m a peace-loving person. I’ll make sure no fights happen in the group,” bringing smiles all around. The change reflects a new phase in the group’s journey, as they evolve both musically and personally.
'Yellow': A Softer Side of TREASURE
TREASURE made a comeback with their latest single ‘Yellow’, released with a visually rich music video that’s already drawing praise for its emotional tone and warm aesthetics.
Describing the song, the members said it captures “the feeling of falling in love” and the warmth that comes with it. “Yellow represents happiness and comfort,” said Asahi, who participated in writing and composing the track. “It’s a color and feeling we wanted fans to experience through the song.”
Junkyu added, “It’s a softer vibe than our usual music. We tried something new, and the fans are loving it.” The music video, featuring cozy visuals, romantic undertones, and expressive choreography, has been trending globally on YouTube.
2025 World Tour: 9 Cities, 1 Message to Fans
Following their comeback album PLEASURE, TREASURE is preparing for an ambitious world tour, with confirmed stops in New York, Washington D.C., Oakland, and Los Angeles in North America; Hyogo, Aichi, Fukuoka, and Saitama in Japan; and a final show in Seoul, South Korea. Starting with "SPECIAL MOMENT," they are launching the global fan concert tour starting in Seoul.
The members expressed their excitement to meet international fans again, especially after experimenting with new musical styles. The tour promises to deliver both fan-favorite tracks and fresh stages for their newer releases.
What's Next for TREASURE?
Alongside the Yellow comeback, TREASURE is reportedly preparing more content for fans, including behind-the-scenes videos, tour vlogs, and additional music releases. Rumors of a full-length album later in 2025 have been circulating, though YG has yet to officially confirm the details.
With a renewed contract, global tour, and new leadership structure, TREASURE seems to be stepping into their next era with confidence and creativity. As their sound matures and their honesty continues to win over fans, 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year for the group.
