Power Show-down: Secrets and Betrayal Collide
Memory restored, vengeance ignited—Park Hyung-sik fights back in ‘Buried Hearts.’

A storm is brewing in Buried Hearts, and Park Hyung-sik is right at the center of it. As SBS’s high-stakes weekend drama heads into Episode 9 on March 21, the production team teased a long-awaited showdown between Seo Dong-joo (Park Hyung-sik) and Yeom Jang-seon (Huh Joon-ho)—two men now locked in a deadly game of power, secrets, and revenge.
From Victim to Avenger
Once a target of an assassination attempt, Seo Dong-joo survived and retaliated by hacking into a 2 trillion KRW political slush fund. Though Yeom Jang-seon nearly succeeded in killing him again, it wasn’t before Dong-joo had already landed a blow.
After awakening with no memory, Dong-joo’s world was shattered once more by the murder of his sister—an act that ultimately jolts him back to full recollection. What follows is not just grief, but a chilling resolve to bring Yeom down.
Now, the two men hold each other's most dangerous cards—money and mortality—and the tension is set to explode.

The Hidden Heir and a Dangerous Card
Adding more fuel to the fire is the revelation of Ji Seon-woo, the secret son of Cha Kang-chun, who believes Seon-woo is destined to sit atop DaeSan Group. Before losing his memory, Dong-joo had grown close to Seon-woo and used that bond to corner chairman Heo Il-do.
Now that his memories have returned, Seon-woo may become Dong-joo’s ace in the ultimate revenge plan.
“I’ll Make You Pay for Everything.”
Episode 9 marks the turning point. According to producers, Seo Dong-joo will boldly confront Yeom Jang-seon, delivering a line fans won’t forget: “Wait for me. I’ll make you pay for everything.”
For the first time, Dong-joo charges forward without hesitation—risking everything in a final, unforgiving showdown.

Rising Ratings and Record-Breaking Momentum
With each episode, Buried Hearts is gaining traction. Episode 8 recorded a peak rating of 14.1%, climbing to the top of South Korea’s 3rd Week of March Integrated Content Rankings, even overtaking Netflix’s hit drama When Life Gives You Tangerines.
As Episodes 9 and 10 approach, anticipation is mounting over whether it will continue its winning streak—or even set new records.
A Duel Worth Watching
Behind the suspense are two powerhouse performances. “Park Hyung-sik and Huh Joon-ho bring razor-sharp energy to every scene,” said the production team. “Their emotional clash and psychological warfare will define Episode 9. Expect tension, grit, and a lot of heat.”
Buried Hearts airs Friday and Saturday at 9:50 p.m. KST on SBS, with Episode 9 premiering March 21.
