Gold Medalist Denies False Claims and Clarifies Legal Matters Involving Kim Soo-hyun on the 18th
Actor Kim Soo-hyun has officially addressed allegations made by the family of Kim Sae-ron, who claimed that the actor had sent a second legal notice to the late actress and allegedly intimidated her family with threats regarding compensation. The statements were made during a press conference held by Kim Sae-ron's family and broadcasted on the Garo Sero Research YouTube channel.
On March 18, Gold Medalist, the agency representing Kim Soo-hyun, issued a formal statement addressing these accusations.

Below is the full statement from Gold Medalist:
We, at Gold Medalist, wish to address the claims made during the March 17 press conference by the family of the late Kim Sae-ron, which was held in collaboration with Garo Sero Research (Gaseyeon). The allegations that Kim Soo-hyun had sent a second legal notice to Kim Sae-ron, demanding compensation for potential damages caused by the actress, and that Kim Soo-hyun had made threatening demands regarding contact with actors in the agency, are inaccurate.
Clarification Regarding the Second Legal Notice:
During the press conference, the family alleged that the second legal notice sent on March 25, 2024, demanded Kim Sae-ron refrain from posting certain photos on social media and contacting any agency actors. They also claimed it mentioned severe consequences if Kim Sae-ron caused any damage to the agency. These claims are completely unfounded. The second legal notice did not contain any demands for compensation nor did it threaten legal action for posting photos or communicating with actors.

As outlined in our previous statements, the purpose of the legal notices was to address the uncollected debts owed by Kim Sae-ron and ensure transparency regarding our agency's legal obligations. The first legal notice, which was sent on March 15, 2024, informed Kim Sae-ron that her debts would be written off as bad debts, and that the agency's executives would be shielded from liability. The second notice sent on March 25, 2024, was to further clarify the situation and attempt to reach a resolution in good faith with Kim Sae-ron regarding her debt repayment.

Addressing the Alleged Intimidation and Threats:
We strongly deny the accusations of threats or intimidation toward Kim Sae-ron or her family. The content of the second legal notice was not about harassing or coercing Kim Sae-ron but about ensuring clarity and protecting the agency's interests. The notice also expressed our willingness to discuss the terms of debt repayment in a collaborative manner.
Kim Sae-ron's family has misrepresented the intention behind the communication and has distorted the truth by claiming that the notice demanded payment under duress. The legal documents were standard procedures to address the debt and did not involve personal intimidation or threats to contact any other individuals. Furthermore, we specifically asked that any communications regarding this matter be conducted through the agency’s legal representatives.

On March 24, 2024, Kim Sae-ron posted a photo on her social media, which quickly led to over 50 articles being published within hours. This post was concerning given the ongoing legal matters and the possible impact it could have on the drama production and the involved actors and staff. As a result, we had no choice but to clarify to Kim Sae-ron that such actions could cause significant repercussions for everyone involved, including the production company, actors, and broadcasting stations.

Despite these claims, we want to clarify that no demands for compensation or threats of legal action were made in relation to the post or Kim Sae-ron’s actions on social media. We made sure to communicate our concerns about the potential negative impact her actions might have on the production, but there was no financial coercion.
Some reports have circulated that Kim Soo-hyun was directly involved in pressuring Kim Sae-ron or making intimidating statements. However, as clearly stated in previous communications, Kim Soo-hyun is not involved in the financial or legal matters between Kim Sae-ron and the agency. These are matters handled exclusively by Gold Medalist and our legal team.
Gold Medalist Responds to Allegations of Absence at Kim Sae-ron’s Funeral
Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has responded to allegations from Kim Sae-ron’s family that the agency did not attend the late actress’s funeral. The agency issued a statement on March 18, denying the false claims made by the family and reaffirmed their respectful actions toward Kim Sae-ron's passing.
Gold Medalist clarified:
"The family has been spreading false information, and we ask them to stop. They’ve made several incorrect claims about our agency and Kim Soo-hyun."
The agency specifically addressed the claim that they did not attend the funeral, stating:
"Despite these claims, Gold Medalist representatives did attend the funeral of the late Kim Sae-ron. On February 17 and February 19, we visited the funeral, personally met the family, and offered our condolences. We also left a wreath and funeral donations as a sign of respect."
This statement aims to clear up misunderstandings and reaffirm that Gold Medalist has always acted professionally and with respect throughout the entire process.

Additionally, the Garo Sero Research team made false claims regarding Kim Soo-hyun's private matters and alleged manipulation by the agency. These rumors were immediately investigated and found to be unfounded. Any statements made about Kim Soo-hyun’s involvement in personal matters outside his professional role are completely unfounded and need to be addressed with caution.

Finally, we request that Kim Sae-ron’s family cease spreading false information about both Kim Soo-hyun and the agency. Misleading statements have caused unnecessary confusion, and it is time to put an end to this distortion of facts.
Gold Medalist has always acted with integrity, and as a professional agency, we have followed all legal protocols in managing our actors' affairs. We hope this statement clears up any misunderstandings and we ask for respect for both the late Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun, as well as for the truth to be upheld moving forward.
Gold Medalist responded to claims aired by Garo Sero Research (Gaseyeon) on March 17, which accused the agency of defaming actress Seo Yea-ji through collaboration with media outlets. The agency clarified:

"These allegations are completely unfounded and based on false information from an anonymous source. No such defamation occurred."

The agency explained that Seo Yea-ji’s former manager, who had left the company, expressed disbelief upon hearing these accusations. Gold Medalist denounced the spread of false claims and called for an immediate halt to the dissemination of such misleading information.
In response to other claims made during the press conference regarding alleged secretive actions involving actors and staff, we reaffirm that the agency operates under the highest level of transparency and professionalism. We have no intention of withholding information, and all interactions with Kim Sae-ron were carried out according to legal protocols.
We urge the public and media to refrain from making further false statements about these matters. All legal and personal affairs of Kim Sae-ron are handled by our professional legal team, and any further inquiries should be directed to them.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting the privacy of all parties involved.
