THE BOYZ’s Sangyeon Enlists as First Member to Begin Military Service: “First in the Team, I’m Nervous”

Sangyeon of THE BOYZ has officially enlisted for his mandatory military service, becoming the first member of the group to do so.

On March 17, his agency, One Hundred, confirmed that Sangyeon entered the Nonsan Army Training Center in Chungcheongnam-do, where he will complete his basic training before serving as an active-duty soldier in the military band.

His agency confirmed:

"On March 17, Sangyeon enlisted at the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam Province. After completing basic military training, he will serve as an active-duty soldier in the Army Band."

Ahead of his enlistment, Sangyeon shared:

"As the first member of THE BOYZ to enlist, I feel a mix of nerves and emotions. I'll do my best during training and return safely."

In a show of strong camaraderie, all THE BOYZ members gathered at the enlistment site to bid farewell to their eldest member, offering their full support as he embarks on this new chapter.

Debuting with THE BOYZ in 2017, Sangyeon has showcased his versatility beyond K-pop, venturing into musical theater. In 2024, he took on roles in the Japanese musical Crash Landing on You and the Korean production Bloody Love, proving his potential as a musical actor.

Meanwhile, THE BOYZ is set to release their third full-length album, Unexpected, at 6 PM KST today. Moving forward, the group will continue activities as a 10-member unit during Sangyeon’s absence.
