The Actress Joins the Star-Studded Cast of the Hit Series, Drawing Major Buzz
Actress Lee Soo-kyung has been confirmed to appear in the Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines.
Since its release on March 7, the show has quickly gained worldwide attention, ranking 4th on Netflix’s Global TOP 10 Non-English Series within just three days. Written by Im Sang-chun and directed by Kim Won-seok, Goodbye Earth tells the story of Ae-soon (played by IU), a rebellious yet spirited young woman born in Jeju, and Gwan-sik (played by Park Bo-gum), a devoted and steadfast soul, as they embark on an adventure-filled journey through the four seasons of their lives.

Lee Soo-kyung will take on the role of Hyun-sook, a wealthy daughter who appears superficial and fashion-conscious on the surface but harbors a much deeper and thoughtful side. Her character is expected to make a strong impression in the latter half of the series. Known for her remarkable character immersion in every role she plays, Lee’s portrayal of Hyun-sook is already generating buzz.
Having made her debut in the 2012 film Summer Vacation, Lee Soo-kyung has steadily built an impressive filmography through various movies and dramas. She gained significant recognition in 2018 and later won Best Supporting Actress at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 31st Buil Film Awards in 2022 for her role in Miracle. Most recently, she captivated audiences with her vibrant performance as Mi-ae in the TVING drama Love In The Big City.
With her undeniable screen presence and ability to bring depth to every role, expectations are high for Lee’s impact in the second half of When Life Gives You Tangerines.

Meanwhile, When Life Gives You Tangerines continues to gain global traction, climbing the Netflix Global Charts in less than three days following the release of Volume 2. On the 17th, Netflix unveiled a teaser for Volume 3, further fueling anticipation among fans and viewers.
The drama features an ensemble cast spanning child actors to veteran performers—takes its title from a Jeju dialect phrase meaning "Thank you for your hard work." It follows the adventurous life journey of Ae-soon, a spirited rebel born in Jeju, and Gwan-sik, a devoted and strong-willed soul, across the four seasons.
Netflix Series When Life Gives You Tangerines Volume 3 premieres on March 21, only on Netflix.
