Good Day Producer TEO Responds with Official Statement
Despite being embroiled in controversy linked to the late Kim Sae-ron, actor Kim Soo-hyun made an appearance on MBC’s variety show Good Day, which aired on March 16.

The latest episode featured G-Dragon, Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, and Code Kunst preparing for the Good Day general meeting. During their discussion, Defconn expressed surprise at G-Dragon’s packed schedule, saying, “We met yesterday, and the next day, he was off to Paris.” Jung Hyung-don jokingly added, “Did you fly business class? The French First Lady must have arranged something special for you,” sparking laughter.
As they scouted locations for the general meeting, the cast discussed hosting a charity auction for their prized possessions. A brief teaser then showcased the upcoming auction, during which Kim Soo-hyun was spotted sitting in the center, dressed entirely in black. However, he was only shown in wide shots, with no close-ups or speaking moments throughout the episode.

Later in the show, G-Dragon met up with actress Kim Go-eun at a karaoke room, where Jung Hae-in later joined them. Dubbed the Hannam-dong Karaoke Crew, the trio enjoyed a casual singing session. Kim Go-eun, known for her impressive vocal skills, captivated the room with her rendition of Lee Hi’s Breathe, while G-Dragon performed Crooked, with Kim Go-eun and Jung Hae-in recording and cheering him on.
Toward the end of the episode, G-Dragon sent out invitations to those he had met through Good Day. The upcoming gathering is expected to include Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, Code Kunst, Jo Se-ho, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi and Seungkwan, Kian84, Kim Go-eun, Hwang Jung-min, Hong Jin-kyung, chef Ahn Sung-jae, and members of the 88 Line—Kwanghee, Lee Soo-hyuk, Jung Hae-in, and Kim Soo-hyun—bringing the total guest count to 30.

Full Statement by Good Day Producer TEO Universe:
Hello, this is the production team of Good Day.
First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for any concerns caused to viewers of Good Day.
We recognize the gravity of the controversy surrounding one of our cast members and are prioritizing audience feedback as we continue production. Good Day is a pre-produced program due to translation procedures required for international broadcasts and distribution. As a result, episodes are finalized at least one to two weeks before their air date.
The episode that aired yesterday (Episode 5) had already been submitted for translation to platforms such as MBC and global OTT services before the controversy escalated. However, upon recognizing the issue, we urgently re-edited and resubmitted a revised version with Kim Soo-hyun’s Good Day General Meeting segment significantly reduced. This led to a shorter-than-usual runtime, approximately 10 minutes less than previous episodes, and a lack of finer production details.
Regarding the recording session held on March 13, Good Day's music recording schedule had already been delayed. During this time, the production team waited for an official statement from Kim Soo-hyun’s agency. However, given that the agency planned to release a statement the following week (as of March 13) and that securing future availability for all cast members would be difficult, we ultimately had no choice but to proceed with the scheduled recording. After careful internal discussions, we conducted the recording and filming in a way that minimized his overlap with other cast members, keeping in mind the possibility of later editing. We sincerely apologize for any distress this may have caused our viewers.
As long as the controversy continues, we believe that Good Day’s original intent, the sincerity of our cast members, and the support of our viewers may also be compromised. The Good Day General Meeting segment, which began airing in the latter half of Episode 5, was filmed on February 18 and will unfold over the next two episodes (Episodes 6 and 7). However, we have made the decision to minimize Kim Soo-hyun’s screen time as much as possible. Additionally, his individual recording session from March 13 will not be aired.
Moving forward, we will continue to do our best to ensure that Good Day remains a program that brings joy to our viewers while being mindful of our cast members. We deeply appreciate your support and will strive to uphold the show’s spirit of good times with good people.
