Celebrity's Reputation Hangs in Precarious Balance.
Actor Kim Soo-hyun is at the center of growing controversy, and now comedian Cho Sae-ho has 'allegedly' quietly unfollowed him on social media, fueling speculation about a possible fallout.

As of March 12, Cho is not following Kim on Instagram. The two previously appeared together on MBC’s variety show 'Good Day', where Cho introduced Kim to G-Dragon as a fellow 1988-liner. However, among the show’s “88-line” members—including G-Dragon, Jung Hae-in, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan, and Hwang Kwang-hee—Kim is the only one Cho has allegedley unfollowed.
This has led to online speculation that Cho may be distancing himself due to Kim’s recent controversy, with many calling it a “swift disassociation.” Of course, some believe that a cautious approach is necessary since nothing has been confirmed. (Update: According to Star News, as it turned out, Cho Sae-ho might have never followed Kim Soo-hyun in the first place, causing a misunderstanding. However, the controversy continues to stir.)

Kim Soo-hyun Faces Escalating Allegations
The controversy stems from claims made by YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon), which alleged that Kim was in a six-year relationship with the late actress Kim Sae-ron, beginning when she was 15 years old. The claims were made through a series of videos released on March 10 and 11.
Kim’s agency, Gold Medalist, immediately dismissed the allegations as “completely false information” and warned of strong legal action against the channel. However, Gaseyeon escalated the situation on March 11 by releasing a photo of Kim Soo-hyun kissing Kim Sae-ron on the cheek, along with text messages allegedly sent by Kim Sae-ron to Kim Soo-hyun during her lifetime.
Despite these releases, Kim’s agency has maintained its stance, reaffirming that the allegations remain entirely untrue. In a statement, the company reiterated, “Our official position has not changed.”

Growing Pressure for Kim Soo-hyun’s Removal from 'Good Day'
As the controversy intensifies, some viewers of 'Good Day' have begun calling for Kim’s removal from the show. Posts demanding his departure have appeared on the show’s online bulletin board. However, MBC has not yet issued an official statement regarding his future on the program.
Impact on 'Knock-Off' and Brand Partnerships
Amid the growing scandal, Kim Soo-hyun’s upcoming Disney+ series 'Knock-Off' is also under scrutiny. On March 12, a representative from the production team told News1 that there were “no confirmed plans” regarding upcoming promotional events such as a press conference, stating that further updates would be provided once decisions are made.
Additionally, brands associated with Kim, including Homeplus and outdoor apparel company Eider, have responded cautiously, stating that they are monitoring the situation closely before making any decisions regarding their endorsement deals with the actor.
With the controversy showing no signs of slowing down, all eyes are now on Kim Soo-hyun’s next move—and whether it will affect his career in the long run.
