"Oppa… Please Save Me" – The Message Kim Sae-ron Allegedly Sent to Kim Soo-hyun

YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon) has once again made claims regarding the late actress Kim Sae-ron, who passed away after an apparent suicide.

On March 10, Gaseyeon alleged that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun since her teenage years, stating that this information came directly from Kim Sae-ron’s family. They also released an audio recording of a woman claiming to be Kim Sae-ron’s aunt speaking with Gaseyeon’s operator, Kim Se-ui.

In response, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency firmly denied the allegations, stating they were “completely false.” However, Gaseyeon continued to push its claims in another broadcast on March 11.

Below is a screenshot of what Gaseyeon claims to be a text message that Kim Sae-ron sent to Kim Soo-hyun during her lifetime.

Gaseyeon also asserted that Kim Sae-ron had written a personal statement regarding Kim Soo-hyun, which she reportedly shared with her cousin before her passing but never made public. Again, this claim originates solely from Gaseyeon.

In the statement, Kim Sae-ron allegedly wrote:

"First and foremost, I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone and to those in the broadcasting industry who were affected and confused by my missteps. The dating rumors that have been reported are completely unfounded and do not reflect the truth. The photo in question, which was uploaded to my Instagram Story, was taken in 2016. The relationship lasted from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021."

The dating rumor in question stemmed from a past incident where Kim Sae-ron uploaded a picture with Kim Soo-hyun on social media, only to delete it shortly after. The image showed the two with their faces pressed together.

Kim Sae-ron’s alleged statement continued:

"However, I fail to understand the intent behind the statement released by Gold Medalist, which claimed, 'We have no idea about this matter.' It does not align with their past actions. I hope they acknowledge and take responsibility for the harm they caused me while I was under their management. As an actress, I believe it is necessary to clarify the truth regarding those who are being perceived negatively by the public due to misleading narratives."

Additionally, Gaseyeon shared a portion of a KakaoTalk conversation that they claim took place between Kim Sae-ron and her cousin.

The channel also released another audio recording of a conversation with a woman identified as A, Kim Sae-ron’s aunt. Regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s agency’s statement, A reportedly said, “The truth will come out eventually.”

Gaseyeon further revealed additional photos allegedly taken of Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun together, claiming they received them from Kim Sae-ron’s family. When asked about the exact date of the photos, A responded, “I don’t know the precise date, but Sae-ron said they were from 2016.”

Hello, this is Gold Medalist Co., Ltd.

This is our official response regarding the YouTube broadcast by Garo Sero Institute involving our artist, Kim Soo-hyun.

The claims made by Garo Sero Institute regarding Kim Soo-hyun are entirely false. The channel has alleged that our company and Kim Soo-hyun conspired with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho to harass the late Kim Sae-ron, that Kim Sae-ron had been in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun since she was 15, that our agency mishandled her DUI incident, and that our manager had personal ties with Lee Jin-ho. These accusations are baseless and malicious.

We cannot overlook these false claims, and we are currently reviewing the strongest possible legal action against Garo Sero Institute for spreading misinformation.

We deeply mourn the tragic passing of our former artist, Kim Sae-ron, and extend our condolences. However, the false narratives propagated by Garo Sero Institute mirror the very cyberbullying that she struggled with during her lifetime. It is unacceptable that the channel is tarnishing her memory and using her name for their gain.

We earnestly request that these unfounded claims do not continue to spread or be amplified further.

Prior to Gaseyeon’s second broadcast on March 11, Gold Medalist reiterated to Star News, “Our stance on pursuing legal action remains unchanged.”
