SEVENTEEN’s Won Woo Shares Both Heartbreaking & Comforting News for Fans

Won Woo (28) of SEVENTEEN is set to begin his mandatory military service in April, becoming the second member of the group to enlist.

On March 5, Pledis Entertainment announced via the fan platform Weverse, stating, "Won Woo will fulfill his military duty starting April 3." The agency further clarified that there will be no official event on the day of his enlistment and urged fans to refrain from visiting the site of his alternative service. Instead, they encouraged supporters to leave messages for Won Woo through Weverse.

Pledis added, "We kindly ask Carats to continue sending their love and encouragement so that Won Woo can complete his service diligently and return in great health. Our company will also provide full support throughout his time in the military."

With this announcement, Won Woo follows Jeong-han as the second member of SEVENTEEN to begin his military service. Jeong-han enlisted in September 2023 and is currently serving through alternative duty.

Since debuting with SEVENTEEN in 2015, Won Woo has been part of the group’s success. He also actively participated in unit activities alongside Jeong-han last year.

Unfortunately, WonWoo will not be able to join SEVENTEEN’s scheduled performances after his enlistment, including the highly anticipated ‘Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025’ festival, one of the biggest Latin K-pop music festivals, as well as upcoming fan meetings in Japan.

However, fans will have one last chance to see him before his departure at SEVENTEEN’s annual fan meeting, ‘CARAT LAND’ on March 20-21 held in Incheon. This will be his final event with fans before enlisting.

Despite the members enlisting one by one, SEVENTEEN is expected to continue active group, unit, and solo promotions to minimize the impact of military service on their activities.
