Rookie girl group UNIS is making waves in the global music scene, earning spotlight recognition from Billboard.

On February 28 (local time), UNIS (Hyeon-ju, Nana, Gehlee Dangca, Kotoko, Yunha, Elisia, Yoona, and Seo-won) was named "K-Pop Rookie of the Month" for February 2025 by Billboard, the leading U.S. music media outlet.

In an article titled "UNIS Is Billboard’s K-Pop Rookie of the Month for February", Billboard highlighted the group’s journey over the past year as they approach their first debut anniversary. The feature also included an exclusive interview, where UNIS reflected on their growth, the lessons they’ve learned, and their ambitions for the future.

During their interview with Billboard, UNIS looked back on their first year as a group, recalling their debut and rookie award wins as the most memorable moments.

"Our debut was the first step for UNIS. It was nerve-wracking because we were finally introducing ourselves to the fans who had been waiting for us," the members shared. "Winning a rookie award was even more special—it felt like a true acknowledgment of all our hard work."

Bold Goals for 2025: Music Show Wins & a Solo Concert

When asked about their goals for this year, Hyeon-ju, Kotoko, Yun-ha, Elisia, and Seo-won confidently stated that their aim is to secure No.1 wins on all music shows. Meanwhile, Gehlee Dangca shared a personal wish, saying, "I hope we can hold our first solo concert this year."

Looking ahead, UNIS hinted at a diverse musical direction for 2025. "We’re planning to showcase a new side of UNIS that hasn’t been seen before," the members revealed.
