Behind-the-Scenes Stories of Foreign Celebrities in Korea

(G)I-DLE’s Minnie is shedding light on a private group chat where foreign K-pop idols connect—including BLACKPINK’s Lisa and GOT7’s BamBam.

On the March 4 episode of JTBC’s Knowing Foreign Language High School (Aneun Oego), veteran foreign entertainers Ayumi, Nichkhun, Julian, and Fabien appear to share advice with rising foreign talents in the Korean entertainment industry.

The seasoned stars, well-versed in the challenges of Korean variety shows, offer wisdom such as: "Avoid anything that could spark controversy" and "Don't try to perfect your pronunciation too much." Nichkhun even brings back his legendary Single Ladies dance with Boom, heating up the set.

Meanwhile, Ayumi, who once dominated the music and variety scene with Cutie Honey, expresses her admiration for fellow Japanese Idol Sakura of LESSERAFIM, saying, "Among my Japanese friends in Korea, I miss Sakura the most." She even reveals that she has been tutoring Sakura in pronunciation and coaching her through the tough world of Korean variety shows.

Minnie Exposes the ‘Foreign Idol’ Group Chat—But No Nichkhun?

A previously mentioned "foreign celebrity group chat" finally gets some backstory. Minnie, while expressing her admiration for idol senior Nichkhun—whom she calls the Prince of Thailand—drops a surprising bombshell: he’s not in the chat.

According to Minnie, the chat, unofficially nicknamed the “?Yang Goong Room”, includes Thai idols like Lisa and BamBam, but not 2PM’s Nichkhun. Her unexpected revelation leaves the studio in shock and laughter.

The final episode of JTBC’s pilot variety show Knowing Foreign High School (Aneun Oego) airs March 4 at 10:40 PM KST.
