ADOR Calls It a Contract Violation, as NewJeans Continues Independent Moves
The ongoing dispute between NewJeans members and their agency, ADOR (subsidiary of HYBE), has further intensified as the group launched new social media accounts under the name ‘NJZ’—prompting ADOR to issue a firm response.

On February 27, NewJeans members announced via their personal Instagram that they had officially created X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok accounts under the new name NJZ. They also shared a teaser video featuring animal-shaped cookies representing the members’ initials.
On February 28, ADOR addressed the situation, stating:
“Our position remains that the exclusive contract is still valid, and we are awaiting legal judgment on the matter.”

The agency further elaborated that NewJeans already has official social media accounts, including TikTok and a YouTube channel, and any additional accounts created without prior consultation are in direct violation of their contract.
“Posting content or engaging in entertainment activities through unauthorized accounts violates the exclusive contract and may cause confusion among fans and advertisers. We urge them to refrain from such actions.”
NewJeans vs. ADOR: A Timeline of the Dispute
The feud began when NewJeans held an emergency press conference on November 28, 2023, declaring that ADOR had failed to address their concerns and announcing their decision to leave the company. The group claimed that their exclusive contract would be terminated as of November 29, 2024, and expressed their desire to continue working with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.

Since then, the members have pursued independent activities, including launching new social media accounts on December 14, 2023. In response, ADOR quickly filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Central District Court, seeking confirmation that the exclusive contract remains legally binding.
NewJeans to Perform as ‘NJZ’ in Hong Kong
Despite the ongoing legal battle, all five NewJeans members announced on February 7 that they would be performing under the name NJZ at ComplexCon Hong Kong in March—where they also plan to unveil new music.

ADOR, however, reaffirmed its legal stance on February 10, stating:
“NewJeans’ claim that their contract has been terminated is a one-sided assertion. We have filed a legal injunction to affirm ADOR’s management rights and are awaiting the court’s decision.”
As the legal battle unfolds, NewJeans’ independent activities continue to gain momentum, leaving fans wondering what’s next for both NJZ and ADOR.
