With a Strong Storyline and Stellar Performances, This Drama Dominates Weekend Viewership
This weekend, a record-breaking K-drama is aiming to surpass 20% viewership, solidifying its spot as the most-watched weekend series.

KBS2’s weekend drama ‘For Eagle Brothers’ has been captivating audiences since its premiere on February 1, airing every Saturday and Sunday at 8 PM KST. From the very first episode, the show has become a hot topic, dominating the ratings race.
The drama follows the five unique brothers of the Eagle Brewery and their eldest sister-in-law, who is suddenly thrust into the role of family head after her husband’s unexpected passing just ten days into their marriage.

Written by Gu Hyun-sook and directed by Choi Sang-yeol and Lee Jin-ah, the series boasts a talented cast, including Ahn Jae-wook, Uhm Ji-won, Lee Pil-mo, Kim Dong-wan, Yoon Park, and Yoo In-young. With its well-structured storyline and exceptional performances, the drama has received high praise from viewers.
According to Nielsen Korea, For Eagle Brothers started strong with a 15.5% nationwide rating on its premiere. By Episode 6 (Feb 16), ratings surged to 18.5%, and Episode 8 (Feb 23) reached a series-high 19.3%, bringing it just shy of the 20% threshold.

Notably, on February 23, the drama ranked No.1 across all TV programs in its time slot, drawing an impressive 3.53 million viewers nationwide. With momentum still growing, fans speculate that Episode 9 (March 1) or Episode 10 (March 2) could push the series past the 20% mark.
A Fan Favorite on the Rise
The drama's popularity extends beyond TV ratings. In a Gallup Korea survey conducted from February 18-20 among 1,002 people aged 18 and older, ‘For Eagle Brothers’ ranked No.6 in Korea’s most-loved TV programs for February, with a 2.6% preference rating. Considering this was the drama’s first inclusion in the rankings, its rapid climb signals an increasing fanbase.

What’s Coming in Episode 9?
KBS2 has teased an eventful March 1 episode:
Kang-soo (Lee Seok-ki)’s sudden news leads Gwang-sook (Uhm Ji-won) and the brothers to rush to Jinhae. Feeling responsible for the accident, Gwang-sook is overwhelmed with guilt.
Meanwhile, Dong-seok (Ahn Jae-wook) faces unexpected chaos, finding himself drenched in alcohol because of Gwang-sook. His frustration reaches a peak when he discovers an entire box of makgeolli spilled in his car.
With emotions running high, will ‘For Eagle Brothers’ make history this weekend?
