Won Ji-an has been confirmed to star alongside Park Seo-joon in the upcoming JTBC drama ‘Waiting for Gyeong-do’ (Official English title not yet confirmed.)

On February 18, H& Entertainment announced, “Won Ji-an will appear in JTBC’s new drama ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ as Park Seo-joon’s first love.”
A Second Chance at Love… or Trouble?
This romantic comedy follows Lee Gyeong-do (played by Park Seo-joon) and Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an), who share a complicated past. After experiencing two relationships in their twenties, they part ways—only to be entangled once again years later due to a scandalous affair rumor that makes headlines.
Won Ji-an takes on the role of Seo Ji-woo, Lee Gyeong-do’s first love. She is the second daughter of JARIM Apparel, a well-known brand, and a celebrity troublemaker who commands public attention with her stunning beauty and bold attitude.
Despite her glamorous image, Seo Ji-woo is secretly suffering due to her husband’s reckless and selfish behavior. Just when she thinks things couldn’t get worse, an infidelity scandal involving her ex-boyfriend, Lee Gyeong-do, erupts, ultimately leading to her divorce.
As she faces the lowest point in her life, Seo Ji-woo unexpectedly reunites with the person she once loved the most. Her unpredictable emotional journey will unfold through Won Ji-an’s dynamic performance, as she navigates heartbreak, second chances, and the chaos that comes with rekindling old flames.
With Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an’s on-screen chemistry, expectations are high for this fast-paced and emotional love story.
‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’ will be directed by Im Hyun-wook, who previously helmed JTBC’s ‘King the Land’, while screenwriter Yoo Young-ah, known for her work on multiple successful dramas, is in charge of the script. The series is set to air in the second half of 2024, though the exact release date has yet to be confirmed.

Won Ji-an first caught viewers’ attention in Netflix’s ‘D.P.’ (2021), playing the girlfriend of a deserter, Jeong Hyun-min (Lee Jun-young). In ‘D.P. Season 2’, she took on a more prominent role in the storyline of transgender soldier Jang Seong-min (Nina, played by Bae Na-ra), further showcasing her versatility.

In December 2023, Won Ji-an gained global recognition with her performance in Netflix’s ‘Squid Game Season 2’, where she played contestant Sae-mi. Her bold styling, featuring a short haircut and multiple piercings, immediately drew attention, adding to her growing reputation.
Beyond Netflix productions, she has continued to build her filmography with roles in ‘A Year-End Medley’ and ‘Jang Cha-jang’, solidifying her presence in both film and television.
With her upcoming lead role in ‘Waiting for Gyeongdo’, Won Ji-an is poised for yet another career-defining moment.
