My Mister and The Light in Your Eyes to Be Adapted into Stage Plays This Summer
Beloved K-dramas My Mister and The Light in Your Eyes are set to be adapted for the theater stage this summer.

T2N Media recently unveiled its 2025 performance lineup, announcing that My Mister will be brought to the stage. Originally aired in 2018, the drama tells the poignant story of three middle-aged brothers and a woman hardened by life, who find solace in each other while carrying the weight of their struggles. The stage adaptation aims to capture the show’s emotional depth through live performances, offering audiences a deeply moving experience.
Alongside My Mister, the hit JTBC drama The Light in Your Eyes is also being transformed into a play. T2N Media has signed a licensing agreement with SLL and JTBC to bring the show to life in theater format.

The Light in Your Eyes follows the journey of a woman who loses time before she can fully embrace it and a man who throws away the brightest moment of his life, choosing instead to live in despair. The drama earned widespread acclaim for its unique storytelling, portraying Alzheimer's disease through a time-warp narrative.
The series also delivered powerful and thought-provoking quotes that resonated deeply with viewers.
Unforgettable Lines That Touched Millions
One of the drama’s most iconic quotes, spoken by Kim Hye-ja’s character, captured the essence of life’s fleeting beauty:
💬 "Life may be nothing more than a dream, but even so, I was happy to have lived it."
This line, narrated by Kim Hye-ja’s character as she reminisces about the simple yet cherished moments with her husband, Jun-ha (played by Nam Joo-hyuk), struck a chord with audiences. The final scene, where an aging Hye-ja reunites with Jun-ha in a moment of pure happiness, remains one of the most breathtaking moments in K-drama history.
This moving dialogue gained even more significance when veteran actress Kim Hye-ja echoed it in her acceptance speech for the Grand Prize at the 2019 Baeksang Arts Awards:
💬 "Life may be nothing more than a dream, but even so, I was happy to have lived it. The crisp air of dawn. The sweet breeze before flowers bloom. The scent of the sunset at dusk. There was never a single day that wasn’t radiant. If you're struggling right now, remember this—if you were born into this world, you have the right to enjoy all of these things every day. Even if today feels insignificant, even if tomorrow seems unremarkable, life is still worth living. Don’t ruin the present by dwelling on a regretful past or an uncertain future. Live today. Radiantly. You deserve it.”
Another line that resonated with audiences:
💬 "Growing old means taking as many pills as your age."

This brutally honest moment occurs when 70-year-old Hye-ja, now far from her youthful 25-year-old self, stares at the overwhelming number of pills she has to take. The line, filled with bittersweet realism, struck a deep chord with viewers of all ages.
With The Light in Your Eyes already recognized for its emotional impact, winning the “Best Program of 2019” award by the Korea Communications Standards Commission, expectations are high for its stage adaptation.
Both My Mister and The Light in Your Eyes continue to leave lasting impressions on audiences. As they transition from screen to stage, fans eagerly await how these powerful stories and unforgettable lines will be brought to life in an immersive theater setting.
