Chu Young-woo has been gaining popularity through his role in The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call, a Netflix medical drama. The series follows Baek Kang-hyuk (played by Ju Ji-hoon), a brilliant surgeon who previously worked in war zones. He takes on the challenge of reviving an underperforming trauma team, leading to a gripping and intense story.

In the drama, Chu Young-woo plays Yang Jae-won, the first surgical fellow to be drawn to Baek Kang-hyuk’s exceptional skills. Originally a fellow in the colorectal surgery department, Jae-won is scouted into the trauma team. Despite his seemingly clumsy nature, he proves to be a highly skilled doctor who fights alongside Baek Kang-hyuk to save critically injured patients, gradually growing into a seasoned trauma surgeon.

The drama has been receiving an enthusiastic response since its release, topping global Netflix charts.
