Webtoon-Based Drama Led by GOT7’s Park Jin-young and Hierarchy’s Roh Jeong-eui

GOT7 member and actor Park Jin-young is making his return with Channel A’s weekend drama The Witch.

On February 11, the press conference for The Witch was held at the Saint Grand Ballroom in D-Cube City, Guro District, Seoul. Present at the event were director Kim Tae-kyun and cast members Park Jin-young, Roh Jeong-eui, Lim Jae-hyuk, and Jang Hee-ryung, who shared insights into the highly anticipated series.

The Witch is a mystery romance that follows Dong-jin (Park Jin-young), a man determined to break the cycle of misfortune surrounding a woman called the “witch,” and Mi-jung (Roh Jeong-eui), a woman who isolates herself from the world after becoming the seed of tragedy. As they persist through hardship, they ultimately become each other’s salvation.

Based on the popular webtoon The Witch by Kang Full, known for works like Moving, Light Shop, and The Fool, the drama has been gaining attention, especially as Park Jin-young’s first project after completing his military service.

Speaking about the show, Park shared, “We filmed this before I enlisted. Now that it’s being released after my discharge, it’s an exciting and emotional experience.” He humorously added, “I’m so happy—I’ve been discharged, and now the drama is coming out. I think everyone can relate to this kind of happiness.”

He also expressed his enthusiasm for the role, saying, “It’s an honor to be part of a story by Kang Full, a writer whose works are so powerful. I know fans of the original webtoon have high expectations for the character Dong-jin, so I worked closely with the director to match the character’s essence as closely as possible.”

Channel A’s new weekend drama The Witch premieres on February 15 at 9:10 PM KST.
