The standout drama is none other than KBS2’s weekend series Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers (directed by Choi Sang-yeol, written by Koo Hyun-sook, and produced by DK E&M). According to Nielsen Korea on February 10, the February 9 broadcast of Episode 4 recorded 3,427,000 viewers and a household rating of 18.8%.
Compared to the previous week, the show gained 287,000 new viewers, with ratings rising by 2.0 percentage points—setting a new series high. It topped the charts for overall weekend ratings across all networks.
The sixth-week TV ratings report (Feb. 3-9) confirmed the dominance of Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers, with 3,174,000 viewers and a household rating of 17.6%. With an increase of 174,000 viewers from the previous week and a steady 1.4% rating jump, the series continues to trend upward, thanks to its fast-paced plot and compelling performances. As key conflicts escalate, audience engagement is skyrocketing.
In the midst of KBS’s recent struggles with weekend dramas, Please Take Care of the Five Eagle Brothers debuted with a star-studded cast, including Uhm Ji-won, Ahn Jae-wook, Choi Dae-chul, Kim Dong-wan, Park Hyo-joo, Yoo In-young, and Yoon Park. The drama aims to hit the coveted 30% ratings mark and is being closely watched as a potential game-changer for KBS.
Viewers have flooded online forums with positive reactions: “Uhm Ji-won is so captivating,” “This is exactly what a weekend drama should feel like,” “18.8% already? Amazing!” “I’m hooked—waiting for the weekend feels too long,” “The chemistry between Ahn Jae-wook and Uhm Ji-won is perfect,” and “It reminds me of the fun I had watching Young Lady and Gentleman.”
In Episode 4, viewers were left captivated as Ma Kwang-sook (Uhm Ji-won) made a life-changing decision to take over the family brewery, signaling a new chapter in her life.
The episode also revealed shocking secrets as Dokgo Tak (Choi Byung-mo) and Jang Mi-ae (Bae Hae-sun) were exposed for embezzling company funds and fleeing 30 years ago. Tak’s icy confrontation with Mi-ae, where he reminded her of her involvement in the embezzlement, further deepened the show’s central conflict.
Kwang-sook also had a tense encounter with Han Dong-seok (Ahn Jae-wook) over a wedding dress repair bill. Dong-seok misunderstood her intentions, leading to a heated argument that hinted at the complex dynamics to come between the two.
Another standout moment came when the youngest of the five brothers, Oh Kang-soo (Lee Seok-gi), heroically saved Han Bom (Kim Seung-yoon), Dong-seok’s daughter, from a stalker. This unexpected encounter set the stage for future developments between the two characters.
Kwang-sook’s bold decision to take over the brewery shocked her family, but she was determined to protect the legacy her late husband had built. Even after quitting her job and submitting her resignation letter, she remained resolute in leading the brewery toward success.
In a dramatic twist, Kwang-sook’s mother, Ju-sil, initially resisted moving into the brewery, but after a heated exchange about her deposit being invested in the company, she reluctantly agreed. As Kwang-sook adapted to her new role, she worked tirelessly to perfect her brewing techniques, eventually succeeding and becoming the new owner of the brewery.
