The couple, with a one-year age difference, will tie the knot on June 21 in Seoul. The unexpected wedding of a popular actress and the youngest professional basketball coach has become a hot topic in both the entertainment and sports industries.
Currently playing the lead role of Maeng Gong-hee in KBS1’s daily drama 'My Merry Marriage' (which ranks No. 1 in viewership), Park shared the news during an exclusive interview with The Korea Times on February 11. She recently secured the Best Actress Award in the daily drama category at the KBS Drama Awards, further solidifying her acting career. Now, she is ready to embark on a new chapter in her personal life.
The couple first met through mutual friends and bonded over their shared love of golf. After a year of dating, they decided to get married. “When I’m with him, I find myself laughing every day,” Park said. “We’re the kind of people who find joy in simple, everyday things rather than chasing a flashy lifestyle, and that similarity brought us closer. Whatever we do together, we’re happy, which is why I felt confident about marriage. He’s mature, someone I can respect, and incredibly thoughtful.”
