IVE Holds a Press Conference to Celebrate Their Comeback
IVE’s Liz showcased her confidence on stage during the press conference for the group’s third mini-album IVE EMPATHY, held on February 3 at the Conrad Seoul in Yeouido, Seoul.
The new album comes about nine months after their previous release, IVE SWITCH, and features six tracks, including the double title songs Rebel Heart and ATTITUDE, as well as FLU, You Wanna Cry, Thank U, and TKO.
ATTITUDE samples Suzanne Vega’s Tom’s Diner and features vibrant synth sounds, familiar melodies, and an addictive chorus. The lyrics convey the idea that while certain situations can’t be changed, your attitude towards them can.
During the event, An Yu-jin commented, “Following After LIKE, we’re sampling again with ATTITUDE. But sampling isn’t the only thing we’re experimenting with. For example, HAVE TO explores classic folklore, and ASCENDIO draws inspiration from magic. This album continues that spirit of experimentation.”
Liz playfully added, “I never imagined we’d release a song even better than I AM,” drawing laughter from the room. However, she quickly turned serious, emphasizing, “The songs are fantastic, and we’ve practiced so much that I’m confident we won’t have any trouble performing on music shows.”
IVE’s third mini-album IVE EMPATHY was officially released on February 3 at 6 PM KST across online and offline platforms.
