Her recommendation of the book 'Essential Buddha's Teachings' during a recent episode of tvN’s 'You Quiz on the Block' has led to an explosive surge in sales, bringing the book back into the spotlight.

Following the broadcast on January 15, the book experienced an over 20-fold increase in sales, catapulting it to the top of real-time bestseller lists. According to Yes24, 'Essential Buddha's Teachings' saw a staggering 1983.3% rise in sales compared to the previous day, an unprecedented spike. The momentum continued on January 16, with sales increasing by an additional 115.2%.

The bestseller rankings also reflected this dramatic rise. Previously outside the top 100 on Yes24’s overall bestseller chart, the book soared to 17th place on January 15 and reached 3rd place the following day. This remarkable trajectory underscores the powerful impact of Jang Won-young’s recommendation. On Kyobo Bookstore’s rankings, the book even claimed the top spot in the humanities category.
