The Actress Discusses Her Thoughts in an Interview About Her New Film Dark Nuns
Actress Song Hye-kyo shared candid thoughts about people who dislike her during an interview on January 21 at a café in Jongno, Seoul, to discuss her latest film, Dark Nuns.
The film follows the story of individuals who engage in forbidden rituals to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. Song Hye-kyo plays Sister Younia, a determined and fearless nun who fights to save the boy.
In promoting Dark Nuns, Song Hye-kyo recently appeared on tvN’s You Quiz on the Block and YouTuber Jung Jae-hyung’s channel, where she addressed the topic of being disliked by some people, raising concerns among her fans.
She commented, “Not everyone has to like me, and I feel the same way about others. Some may dislike me for a reason, while others may have no specific reason at all. Conversely, there are those who like me for similar reasons, or even without one.”
She added, “I came to this realization: instead of trying to explain myself with a hundred words, I thought, ‘If someone dislikes the person Song Hye-kyo, I’ll try to make them appreciate the actress Song Hye-kyo.’”
Song continued with a smile, “Even if someone initially dislikes me, they might watch a project and think, ‘Oh, I didn’t like her, but this is good.’ So, I decided to focus on doing my work diligently.”
Meanwhile, Dark Nuns is set to hit theaters nationwide on January 24.
